Two weeks into its run at theaters and the feminist-friendly sci-fi thriller, Unicestwienie, headed up by Natalie Portman and Jennifer Jason Leigh, bombed… badly.
Zgodnie z Forbes the film has only managed $20 million in domestic gross while playing across theaters nationwide in the U.S. Its second weekend only garnered $5.1 million, firmly showcasing that many of the comments on the original YouTube trailer appeared to echo the sentiments of not just the online film-viewing aficionados, but also the wider public at large.
As a refresher course in what the comment section looked like, you can view a few below:
Some of these sentiments seem to be reflected in the movie’s user rating on Rotten Tomatoes as well, with the critics giving it strong praise but users seem a bit iffy on Unicestwienie. In fact, the average user rating sits at a 66% fresh rating out of 100%, compared to the professionals giving the film an 86% out of 100%.
w odróżnieniu Gwiezdne Wojny: Ostatnie Jedi, there wasn’t hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Disney’s marketing muscle behind Unicestwienie to cram it down the throats of everyone and their mother the world around (which still didn’t help Gwiezdne Wojny w Chinach).
Basically, it doesn’t matter whether or not Unicestwienie was a good film, all that matters is that plenty of people saw a trailer for a film that seemed like the 2016 outing of Ghostbusters, but without the forced humor or male feminists feigning laughter, and they decided they weren’t going to give it a chance.
Many people who stood against the Intersectional Inquisition – activist journalists and critics who control Western media – warned that eventually casuals who engage in entertainment media would rebel against propaganda, forced narratives, and diversity quotas in films, comic books, television and video games.
It took a few years but we’re now starting to see the fruition of that pushback — a pushback that has come in the form of just about every Liberal-themed video game bombing, including Wolfenstein II: Nowy Kolos, Zemsta: Śmierć Outsidera i Mass Effect: Andromeda, along with comic books tanking in sales so badly that Marvel had to cancel many of their agenda-themed comic books leading into 2018. This seems to be carrying over into films as well, with movies like Unicestwienie being completely shunned by people who seem to be holding firm in their beliefs to abandon supporting certain kinds of media, especially those that heavily pushes feminism or multicultural agendas.
